After Mrs. Hash privately reviews the many photographs that have been
taken of the subject, she will select a small group of photos to bring to this session. This group
of photos represents those images that will result in the best portrait given the contract requirements.
Typically the selections have been made based on facial features that are relaxed and compliment
the characteristics of the subject to be asserted in the painting. Good posture, relaxed shoulders and interesting hand
positions are also considered, but not crucial to the final selection. The face is top priority
at this point in the process. Suggestions for substituting postures and/or hands from alternate photos
will be discussed.
This process gives Mrs. Hash the artistic license to make selections that she feels will result in
the best painting while still allowing the client the flexibility to select the countenance that best
represents the desired personality they wish to see in the final painting.
