Austin’s Portrait

Austin’s Portrait

I started this months ago in an oil painting class I was teaching.  I have worked on it off and on while trying to finish this new website… but between the website, family responsibilities, moving my oldest son, Austin (yep, the handsome guy in the portrait), to college and teaching, there hasn’t been much time to devote to it.  Until now! Yeah!

London and Paris

London and Paris

I had a blast spending time with my art buddy, Rosslyn, at her home in London.  We saw so much art… and, as if London wasn’t enough, we hopped on the Eurostar to Paris and took in five days of art there.  Over the next month or so, I will post some of the highlights here.  For starters, here is my current, favorite, art quote: “Keep good company – that is, go to the Louvre.” – Paul Cezanne.  So, we did.  Two full days was not enough!

Drawing Papers Have Arrived

Drawing Papers Have Arrived

I am very excited about my upcoming drawing class in Rosenberg.  This image shows some of the papers we will be using: Twin Rocker White Feather paper (no, it’s not made of feathers), Mexican Bark paper, Egyptian papyrus, Fabriano Artistico, and Japanese Ogura paper. We will be stretching our artistic muscles trying all these new surfaces.

Launch of My New Website

Launch of My New Website

Well, it has been slow going… and is not complete… and is not bug free… but this website has held up my art production long enough.  As Leonardo da Vinci said, “I have been impressed with the urgency of doing.  Knowing is not enough; we must apply.  Being willing is not enough; we must do.”
